Heel Spurs Treated in Southeast Idaho & Western Wyoming

WHAT IS A HEEL SPUR?

A heel spur can be confused for another similar, yet different, condition called plantar fasciitis. People with plantar fasciitis often also have a bone spur. A bone spur is a hooked bone that forms on the heal.

If you have a history of chronic foot pain (often related to plantar fasciitis) heel spurs are a common condition. Middle-aged men and women are most susceptible. Bone spurs can simply form over time. As people age cartilage can break down and wear away resulting in a heel or bone spur found along the edge of the joint. In addition to aging, heel spurs can develop from the stretching of ligaments. This is seen in runners and dancers.
